Cilantro Garlic Fries:
- 2 large russet potatoes
- 3 tablespoons grape seed oil
- 2 tablespoons finely minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
Method
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Wash potatoes really well in cold water. Peel and cut potatoes into fries. Place potatoes in cold water while you prep.
- Toss potatoes in 2 tablespoons olive oil and kosher salt. Place potatoes onto baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes.
- Toss potatoes in remaining 1 tablespoon grape seed oil, garlic and cilantro.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper. Divide beef into 4 portions and form into patties. Cook on a nonstick grill for about 5 minutes per side.
- In a bowl, mix together olive oil mayo, lime juice, dill pickle, cayenne pepper, salt and cilantro.
- Cook eggs sunny side up.
- Build Burger: Spread cilantro mayo onto bun. Place beef patty atop spread and finish with egg. Enjoy.
- Chefs tip: Use a non-stick pan to cook your eggs. Use a large spatula to carefully guide your egg off the pan and onto your burger patty directly.
- Cuban Cuisine is a blend of African, Native American, Spanish and Caribbean cuisine. The Frita is a popular Cuban style burger. It is served in the streets of Havana and now a favorite across the US. The Frita itself has fries within the burger, so feel free to make this authentic and place your garlic cilantro fries inside your bun.
